Amy is a 4th degree black belt in Traditional Shotokan Karate. She is one
of the highest ranked female practitioners in the United States in this style
of Karate (AAKF/ITKF).

She has trained for over 25 years and, from 1993 to 2003, competed on
the national & international tournament circuit bringing home
to her dojo (Midwest Karate, Minneapolis) 13 Gold medals from Nationals
(individual kata, mixed enbu & team kata), Gold and Silver medals from
Pan-Americans (individual kata) and 4 Gold medals from the La Jolla
Goodwill Tournament (individual kata.)

Now retired from the tournament circuit, Amy teaches and is the
assistant coach for the U.S. Team. She is an internationally-certified judge,
actively participating in local, national and international tournaments.

In 2011, Amy was named a Senior Member of the AAKF North Central
Region's Technical Committee.
